Shepherd's purse

Capsella bursa-pastoris - Fam. Brassicaceae

Thanks to a very prolonged blossoming period and to an abundant seed production this plant is amongst the most common ones that infest gardens and crops in our continent. Folk medicine recommends the use of the whole flowered plant for its vasoconstrictor and haemostatic properties, which make it beneficial in case of abundant menstruation, varicose veins and hemorroids.
