Hedera Helix - Fam. Araliaceae

Ivy is a climbing plant with a woody stem and pronounced triangular leaves. The drug is made of the leaves harvested in August, rich in glycoside with antitussive and expectorant effect.

It is especially used to calm pertussis attacks and spasmodic coughs.


The fruits are blackish toxic berries. For external use it finds usage in slimming lotions and anti-cellulite creams.
